A Full Website Redesign.
The old website was outdated aesthetically, lacked the capacity to showcase the vast artwork portfolio properly and was missing art consultant projects. They needed a new website that could function both as a selling tool for the consulting side and display artwork, artists and exhibitions for the gallery.
So.Much.Art!
One of the biggest challenges was dealing with the high volume art inventory for Gallery 1871, who represents over 100 artists. After much deliberation, we decided to host the inventory on Art Logic and integrate it seamlessly into our Squarespace site, giving them even broader capabilities to display each artist / collection / exhibition without a glitch.
Case Studies for the win!
Chicago Art Source deals with large scale interventions in hospitality, healthcare and residential. One of the most pressing issues was finding a dynamic and eye catching way of showcasing these projects, both to attract new customers and show their unique capabilities and range. The case studies section quickly became a main focus and one of the client’s favorite features.
Let’s do a brand makeover!
The gallery did not have a separate branding from the consulting business, which sometimes made it confusing for customers. After a lot of brainstorming on a new name, we landed on Gallery 1871.
The challenge for the logo was finding something that would be strong enough as a stand alone but also work well in conjunction with Chicago Art Source logo. After several versions and lots of exploration, I’d say we nailed it.
